gaijin (外人) is Japanese for outsider. The name fits how we work: outside the usual agency structure, close to the problem, accountable for the result.
We are a small software studio based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, building for clients locally and remotely. Our work spans public-sector systems, marketplaces, media apps, and the automation that keeps them running.
We take on a small number of projects at a time, and we stay involved from first sketch to running system.

Questions, answered
What kinds of projects does gaijin take on?
Civic and licensing platforms, marketplaces and commerce, media and streaming apps, notification systems, automation, and the cloud infrastructure they run on. Most engagements cover the whole path: scope, design, build, deploy, and operation.
What technologies do you work with?
Web platforms in .NET and Laravel, front ends in TypeScript and Next.js, mobile apps in Flutter, Telegram bots, push notification stacks, and cloud platforms such as Cloudflare Workers, Pages, D1, and R2. The tool follows the problem.
Where are you based, and do you work remotely?
Johor Bahru, Malaysia, at GMT+8. We work with clients nearby and remotely across time zones.
How does a project start?
A short conversation about the problem, then a written scope with milestones and a working rhythm. First working software arrives early, not at the end.
Can you work under NDA on confidential systems?
Yes. Much of our work is not publicly named, and the notes on this site describe kinds of systems rather than clients.
Have a system in mind?
A short note about the problem is enough to start. We reply personally.
